Fiorentina Manager impressed by Juventus

head coach has much admiration for top team , and thinks that the “anti-Juve” is non-existent, asserting it’s only up to the team themselves to lose points.
Between winning the Scudetto last season, and making their way through the Champions League while remaining on top of the Serie A table this season, there is no doubt that Juve have had a great 2012.
Montella talked to Gazzetta dello Sport about why he thinks the Bianconeri are so impressive, including the fact that they were able to continue in such good fashion without their coach Antonio Conte during his ban.
“The anti-Juve does not exist,” he said. “Only the Bianconeri can lose points for themselves.
“But if they keep going forward in the Champions League, they will spend a lot of mental energy trying to concentrate on both.
“Their strength however is that they’ve been able to hold it together without their coach for so long.
“And that is credit to Antonio Conte. He is a superb man-manager and tactician. The work done during the week is the most important, and that’s why they did not suffer too much [when Conte was suspended].
“And they’ve got Claudio Marchisio and Arturo Vidal – two of the best in their position around.”

Fiorentina attacker Jovetic wants Serie A stay

Steven Jovetic has thrown his future at into question as he has stated that he could make a move in the summer.
The Montenegrin striker has been linked with a move to the Viola’s hated rivals in and as of yet he has not denied those rumours.
But Jovetic has admitted that if he did leave Fioretina, it would be for another team in Italy.
“I am only thinking about the present,” he told Corriere della Sera.
“I feel great in Florence and I want to win something with this shirt.”
“I will talk with the club in June about my future, but if I did change teams, I’d like to stay in Italy.”

Giancarlo Antognoni: Fiorentina want a striker

Fiorentina legend Giancarlo Antognoni thinks that the Viola are just a striker away from being a stable top three side.
The Tuscan giants have been a revelation this term and they are third after 18 games, but Antognoni sees a Powerlessness in attack.
“This Fiorentina side needs a centre-forward,” he said Firenze Viola. “I have great respect for Luca Toni and the others, but they definitely require a forward.
“Let’s say that if they had a player like Roma’s Pablo Daniel Osvaldo then qualifying for the Champions League this season would be clearly available to them.”
Osvaldo is actually a former Fiorentina player. The Argentine-born striker scored just five goals in 21 games over one and a half seasons in Florence, but he’s now a recognised Italian international.
Osvaldo has nine goals in 13 League games for Roma this season.
Fiorentina’s top scorer in Serie A in 2012-13 is Stevan Jovetic with eight, while Toni has grabbed six in 14 matches.

Fiorentina owner Dalla Valle: I don't know what Roma's Zeman moaning about

Fiorentina patron Andrea Dalla Valle has had a pop at the wailing of AS Roma coach Zdenek Zeman.
Dalla Valle feels the Serie A is well representative of all of Italy.
“We gave ourselves until Christmas to understand what this Fiorentina side could dream of,” he said.
“Looking at the League table, the qualifying for the Champions League is an objective that we, along with five other sides, can fight for.
“That’s why I don’t understand Roma boss Zdenek Zeman’s claim that there is a northern wind in Italian football.
“His side is three points away from the Champions League zone…
“We are all there, clubs from the north, the centre and the south.”

Fiorentina is Gunning for Champions League: Della Valle

Andrea Della Valle, President of AC Fiorentina, has praised the performances of his team and stated that they will be looking at top three as their possible target.

There were great things expected of the Florence based outfit after they revamped their squad following a couple of mediocre and below par performances by the Fiorentina outfit. While commenting on the performances of his teams and their expectations at the end of the season, the patron of the Viola outfit went on to comment on the fact that they will be looking to be in the premier European competition in their next campaign.

Fiorentina had a massive overhauling at their club in the previous transfer window as they looked to pull themselves out of the rut they had been in for the past couple of years. Just last year, the Florence based outfit saw them pitted in the relegation zone during the end of the Serie A campaign. After such an abysmal campaign, they looked to get themselves out of this rut and invested heavily, along with firing their head coach of last year, Delio Rossi.

They hired a new head coach along with a new sporting director, with Vincenzo Montella and Daniele Prade, coming into the club’s new project, respectively. While commenting on their performances, he went on to suggest that he would be looking to perform to the best of their abilities and look to secure a place in the Champions League. ADV went on to comment that he was waiting to see how the club performed under the new management and leadership, before confirming their targets for the upcoming season.

He was quoted to have said:

“We gave ourselves until Christmas to understand what this Fiorentina side could dream of. Looking at the League table, the qualifying for the Champions League is an objective that we, along with five other sides, can fight for.”
The Florence based outfit are currently in the joint third position of the Lega with 35 points at the close of the winter break. While remarking on the performances of his team and the expectations at the club, ADV noted that there was great competition for top places in Italy.
